Forest Resources Management

The Forest Resources Management Axis is part of the Forest Is Life Research and Teaching Support Unit (CARE) of Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech (ULiège). CARE itself is associated with TERRA Research and Teaching Centre.
It is by royal decree of August 25, 1897 that a section of Water and Forests was created at the State Agricultural Institute in Gembloux. This section has changed its name several times and has not stopped evolving since its creation.
Recently, following the integration of the "Faculté universitaire des Sciences agronomiques" at the University of Liège, and a reorganization of the different decision-making structures, it was named "Axe Gestion des Ressources forestières".
This Axis develops fundamental and applied research activities in the fields of forest management, economics and technology, both in temperate and tropical countries.
It is also at the heart of teaching activities specific to the forestry field within the framework of the Master's degree in Forest and Natural Area Management (GFEN).
