AIL Functioning
The CAREs must be privileged places of transversality of GxABT research and interfaculty collaboration within the ULg and beyond, allowing scientists (teacher-researchers and PhD students) to develop a long-term teaching and research agenda and to have access to efficient infrastructures, with a view to interactions between them, within TERRA. The CARE AgricultureIsLife can also provide services to external public or private organizations on the basis of scientific collaboration or as a service.
The infrastructures and equipment located on the Gembloux campus, which meet this objective, constitute the CARE AgricultureIsLife and are made available to users.
The CARE AgricultureIsLife is coordinated by a Management Board that meets several times a year and is managed on a day-to-day basis by:
A President (currently Jérôme Bindelle);
A Director (currently Benjamin Dumont).
A First Assistant (Caroline De Clerck)
Three technical platforms (Plants-Systems, Ecology-Chemistry-Soil, Computing and Computer Modelling) and three infrastructures (the Experimental Farm, the Experimental Centre for Animal Productions and the Wasabi Platform) are integrated into the CARE AgricultureIsLife.
Any member of the permanent academic and scientific staff, including those paid by the FNRS, of ULiège affiliated to TERRA may have access to the AgricultureIsLife CARE provided that they have applied for affiliation to the CARE. These persons must have previously agreed the internal rules and regulations and sign them, as well as the AIL Database Terms of Reference. For interns, fellows, doctoral students, and non-permanent scientists, the rules of procedure must also be countersigned by their supervisor or sponsor. Members of the academic community not affiliated with TERRA and outsiders may also have access to the AgricultureIsLife CARE under special conditions. They must also have agreed and signed the CARE AgricultureIsLife rules.
In general, any user wishing to use the resources of the CARE AgricultureIsLife, or one of the technical platforms/infrastructures that are integrated into it, must do so within the framework of a request on the basis of a specific form that can be found by following the link below:
