Understanding the consequences of a +3°C climate
On November 20, 2025, the French-language Belgian newspaper Le Soir published a dossier based on the following question: what can we expect when temperatures in Belgium rise by between 2.7°C and 3.1°C? If the current rate of global warming continues, we'll be facing this scenario by the end of the century.
With the help of Belgian experts, coordinated by Prof. François Massonnet (FNRS-UCLouvain), Le Soir has created a map showing the consequences of global warming of between 2.7°C and 3.1°C in Belgium, by 2100.
This work was made possible with the help of Gemblout researchers Jérôme Bindelle, Aurore Degré, Benjamin Dumont and Christophe Lacroix.
